POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversee all landscape/ irrigation contracts and contractors for Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District. Monitor the work provided through the maintenance contracts and ensure adherence to the contracted services and quality level of service. Monitor the status of the landscape and turf within the LWR Stewardship District and coordinate any improvements as needed. Oversee all landscape/irrigation construction project contracts and contractors as may be provided from time to time. Communicate with internal and external professionals to perform the tasks as stated, outlined and required per the essential functions for this position. Report directly to communicate with and take direction from the Operations Director and the Executive Director to manage and conduct business for the District.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM (and as needed).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for obtaining bids, generating contracts and submitting change order requests associated with LWR Stewardship District business.
  • Oversee all landscape maintenance and irrigation maintenance contracts and contractors doing work for and in the LWR Stewardship District.
  • Weekly drive through of all District common areas to review level of maintenance and any improvements needed.
  • Prepare associated costs as required for District landscape/irrigation maintenance yearly budgeting.
  • Oversee the landscape/irrigation maintenance contracts & contractors, facilities/amenities maintenance contracts and contractors and general conditions of LWR Stewardship District Parks.
  • Generate and submit contracts and change orders associated with landscape & irrigation construction projects for LWR Stewardship District.
  • Schedule various LWR Stewardship District projects in coordination with LWR Stewardship District approved vendors.
  • Assist LWR Development project managers with layout, implementation, and completion of LWR Stewardship District landscape/ irrigation and construction projects through LWR Development.
  • Work with Manatee and Sarasota County to ensure safety compliance with roadway signage and landscaping.
  • Participate and attend monthly safety meetings.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• General knowledge and experience with landscaping & irrigation contracts and maintenance.

• Advanced knowledge of Florida plant materials, turf, and landscape best practices.

• Possess or ability to obtain Florida Pesticide Applicator License, Core and Turf & Ornamental

• Knowledge of occupational safety hazards, proper maintenance of traffic, and necessary precautionary measures.

• Knowledge of proper business communications, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Must possess a high level of customer service skills.

• Must possess excellent organizational skills.

• Must have good computer skills and be proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Must be able to work as part of a team and foster a positive work environment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight, bend, squat, kneel, pushing and pulling.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and demands.
